| 1 | Minutes of previous meeting (5th October 2007) |
| These were accepted as a true record. No amendments were submitted. | |
| 2 | Matters arising |
| None. | |
| 3 | Calls since the last meeting |
| Jerry ran through the calls received since the last meeting. In each case those who responded to the calls recounted their experiences of the event. | |
| 4 | Recent Training |
| The recent refresher training session was reviewed and JC welcomed Dan to his first group meeting and reported on the success of the newly trained volunteers who will be joining the scheme as soon as their CRB checks, etc, have been completed. It was agreed that practical training sessions, using a dummy able to accept an OPA and a practice defibrillator, could take the place of every second monthly meeting. JC would propose to the Pennard first responder group, at their next meeting, that they fund half the cost of the dummy and practice defibrillator. If this was agreed then he would contact the university's senior management to see if they would provide the other half of the cost. In the meantime JC would see if other sections of the university who may have either one or both of the dummy and practice defibrillator could help out, e.g. the school of health science or the sports centre. | |
| 5 | Bag familiarisation |
| The bag normally kept in the LIC was emptied and the location of all of its contents was reviewed | |
| 6 | AOB |
| It was agreed that the call received on 10th October should not have been made by the switchboard as the situation was not life threatening. JC said that he would talk to Cathy and the switchboard to see if such calls could be reduced in the future. | |
