1 Minutes of previous meeting (4 February 2008)
These were accepted as a true record. No amendments were submitted.

2 Matters arising
  1. New volunteers - see below.
  2. The practice manikin has been delivered. The AED is on "back order" awaiting shipment from the United States.
  3. Pete Deacon has suggested that FRs on call could carry a DECT phone in addition to the mobile. Ambulance control would call the DECT number which would ring for 21 seconds. If unanswered in that time it would automatically divert to the mobile. This would help in areas where there's a DECT signal but not a mobile signal. In tests it was found that if the DECT phone was switched off the call would divert to the university switchboard. We need to see what happens when there's no DECT signal; will the call divert to the mobile or the switchboard? Nat suggested a landline as the first contact, automatically diverting to the DECT and mobile simultaneously. Jerry offered to talk to Peter about this. Action: Jerry
  4. It was agreed that Jerry would contact Jacqui Brannigan, secretary of Singleton halls, to see if she could supply a master Salto card for each of our bags. These cards would get us into all the hall entrances and onto all the floor levels in all the halls. It was also mentioned that there's a Salto lock on the Aqua Centre entrance door. Jerry to talk to Ian Macpherson about that. Action: Jerry
3 Calls since the last meeting
There have been 5 calls since the last meeting.  A brief recap of each event was given where the responders who attended were present.

4 New volunteers
All except 3 of our new volunteers have received CRB and occupational health clearance. The remaining 3 should get theirs within the next few weeks.

5 Revised Rota
Anthony, Owen and Christine were welcomed to the team and presented with their ID badges. Poor Dan will have to wait a little longer for his. This gave us an opportunity to revise the rota. As Ross and Anthony both said they would not be going home during the Easter vacation it was decided not to devise a vacation rota just yet. The revised term-time rota can be seen here.

6 Distribution of antiseptic gels
Given to those who had not received their personal supply and duly signed for.

7 Any other business

  1. It was suggested that using initials in the online cover rota had caused confusion (JC, JG, JGC) so it was agreed that in future first names will be used instead.
