Web-based phone diversion system - Steve Roberts
has said that a new SMS based alerting system may be trialled in the near
future. We will therefore be alerted about new calls via text (which raises
a number of questions in itself!) so the system as detailed by Nat before
she left would not work as the text would go to a land line. Special Needs phone number - The general contact number for Student Services has been entered into the phone under "Special Needs". Adele Jones, disability office manager, has warned that because of patient confidentiality there may be times when information about a patient would not be divulged to first responders. |

| The 8 calls received since the October meeting were discussed. Jerry has reminded the switchboard that we don't cover the Sports Centre - unless there's going to be a long delay in getting an ambulance there. | |

Jerry has agreed
with Tony Hammett, accommodation office operations manager, on a
procedure to follow when dealing with a casualty in any of the halls on
campus and this has been conveyed to all responders.

| As so few members were present it was not really possible to re-jig the rota. Jerry will contact all members by email to try to find a solution. | |

5.1 Refresher training has been arranged for
Tuesday 20 January 2009 and Thursday 5 February 2009. 5.2 Ambulance control in Carmarthen may ask the switchboard to contact us when a 999 call has been made. 5.3 There are 4 university staff and 3 or 4 undergraduate students awaiting training as first responders. It was agreed that rota problems and difficulty contacting students during an emergency means that it's probably best to stick with staff only in the future. 5.4 The training session and business meeting dates for 2009 are now on the website. |

| Mike is anxious that many out of date items in the bags have not been replaced. Steve Roberts was notified about these many weeks ago, so Jerry will chase him up. ACTION: JERRY | |

| 6.1 Dave asked if photos of
responders could be put on a secure page on the website. Jerry to
investigate. ACTION: JERRY 6.2 Dave pointed out that there were still buttons on the web pages which linked to the calls details page. Jerry will remove these. ACTION: JERRY 6.3 Now that both pages of the PCRs are handed to ambulance crews Jane asked if a pro forma page could be made available for responders to report calls to Jerry. ACTION: JERRY |
